       Los Rakas are a Panamanian, Grammy-nominated music duo made up of Raka Rich and Raka Dun.   Their unique sound merges English and Spanish, and combines Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, Reggae, and Dancehall.  Earlier this year, they released their album Raka Love II. They gave me the opportunity to film one of their rehearsals.

We asked people in the Mission District of San Francisco about the best and worst Moments of 2017.

Twenty years ago, the queen of Tejano music Selena Quintanilla was shot and killed by the president of her fan club. Decades later, Selena's enduring legacy continues to inspire fans, including members of the Latino LGBTQ community. 

 

 

The hip hop community is mourning the death of a well-known Bay Area rapper - The Jacka. For some in the bay areas his death also means the loss of a mentor to many at risk youth and young artists. Read more on Oakland North.
